D.A. Crimson is a pen name for Brooklyn singer-songwriter Diego Clare (they/them). After pursuing various projects since the age of 15, Clare took a hiatus for 5 years. In that time they wrote reclusively with no active intent to release music, but what has since emerged is a yearning collection of obtuse folk songs that harbor hues of grunge, country, dark wave and indie pop. At times frail, at others grounded and bold, Clare’s voice is a shapeshifter held together by stormy ruminations on loss, love, religious faith, and longing. In 2023, D.A. Crimson released their first single “Golden Egg,” followed by the hard-hitting “Big Dog,” with more singles to follow and an EP to come in 2024.
