Adjacent to new psych-rock Philadelphia, three-piece Catatonic Suns uniquely merge the tones of the late 1980s Pacific Northwest underground, with the huge shimmery wall of sound elements heard in the British scene from the same era. Releasing one mini album entitled ‘Aphelion’ (2019), followed by their debut full length Saudade (2022), and most recently the self titled album Catatonic Suns released by UK label Agitated Records, the band have established themselves as one to watch and listen for. As a live act, Catatonic Suns have played and opened for artists including Kurt Vile, Strawberry Alarm Clock, and Acid Dad; their shows are often characterized for being a noise pop frenzy glued together by a tight rhythm section with a guitar pedal haze topping it all off.
